3 Quick Ways To Improve Search Engine Ranking Organically
1) Theme each individual page of your destination website
An easy way to add more value to your optimization is by grouping terms that share a common word or phrase on one web page. For example, you may choose to focus the keywords on the Home Page around the word "museum" by using "downtown San Francisco museum", "San Francisco California museum", while the key words selected for the Tour Page use the word "tour" by using "San Francisco tours", "San Francisco daytime tours". When the keywords selected for a web page all include a common element, it provides great support to the site's organic rankings. It grants fast recognition of individual keywords on the web page much easier. It also prompts the search engine to consider the whole web page relevant to the common theme and often permits the site to appear for other terms within the theme that have not been specifically targeted. If the common theme is also included in the title of the page, the positive effect on the site's rankings is even better.
2) Use niche keywords that attract your type of visitor
Working with clients, I know it is tempting to target only the most popular keywords that appear within your travel market and relevant to your destination (i.e. "San Francisco museum" "San Francisco attraction"). We often remind our clients that these type of terms are difficult to maintain prominent placement, especially in larger markets. A better method is to balance the most popular searched phrases with targeted niche terms (i.e. "San Francisco art museum," "San Francisco kids museum,"). This will have a much greater chance in both search engine ranking and converting people to visit.
3) Intra-link web pages within your destination site and include keywords in the actual text link
Search engines value text included in links far greater than standard text. While a hyperlink from a page within the same site does not carry as much SEO value as an inbound link from an external UR, it does carry a certain value and especially important role in SEO when the text of the link includes a targeted keyword. The practice of incorporating links to other pages within your site also provides a secondary benefit, by presenting visitors with the opportunity to explore pages of greatest interest to them and a more interactive experience.
